Repurposed Salt Lid "Star" Christmas Ornament

Chipping with Charm: Repurposed Salt Shaker Lid Ornament...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
Yep, I am "one of those"...
I've started on my Christmas decorating and creating.
When you sell your wares in retail you have to find a way to "jump" into the Christmas "Spirit" a little earlier than most. We needed to have our booth at Antiques Downtown  ready for Christmas shoppers by November 1st this year, so that got me started.  And we celebrate Thanksgiving at my parents' house, so that frees me up to "dig in" a little earlier.
(And hopefully be all decorated and ready to relax and enjoy in December?)
I'm not going to lie...most years I just keep on creating up until December 24th. I can't help myself...its my favorite time of year.  And once I start I can't stop!

This is my first repurposed ornament of the season...

Apple Basket Lid to Rustic Snowflake...let it snow...

Chipping with Charm: Basket Lid Snowflakes...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
You may have heard that Minnesota got a "little" snow yesterday.  A little early for most considering our winter was so VERY long last year.  I decided to make the most of it and finish up a project that has been in my head for a while...

A Cheerful Fall Vignette...

Chipping with Charm: Colorful Fall Drawer Shelf Vignette...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
You might remember this little stacked drawer shelf for my old COFFEE STATION.
When we redid our kitchen it lost it's spot to my Mommy Central...
And now it moved to a new bright sunny spot near the front door.

My Planters are "Blooming" with Milk Glass...

Chipping with Charm: Blooming Milk Glass...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
You might already know that I do NOT have a "green thumb"!!  But I really LOVE junky planters and annuals.  About this time of year my plants trend to look a little sad :(

Bed Springs to Chandelier Shades...junky details...

Chipping with Charm: Springs for Chandelier "Shades"...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
Yet another "simple idea"...
A while back a Facebook follower posted a picture of her chandelier on my page and asked if I had any ideas for shades.  I immediately thought of springs...and it's been in my head ever since :)

I decided to try it on my dining room fixture.
What do you think?

We have been busy with Vacation Bible School this week.
Today during the lesson today I asked if anyone knew what a "Disciple" was...and one little boy said "It's when you take old stuff and make it into something new". So cute...I guess recycle does rhyme with disciple :)
I still remember my awesome weeks of VBS as a kid.  I hope these little people feel the same way when they are 40+!!

Chipping with Charm: Repurposed Vase Ladies...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
Meet "The Girls"...
Chipping with Charm: Repurposed Vase Ladies...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
I found a couple of cracked vases at garage sales recently.  I decided they might be finished being "useful"...but they weren't done being "pretty".
Chipping with Charm: Repurposed Vase Ladies...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
Flipped upside down they looked a like a skirt and a couple of arms to me.  How about you?

What do you think?  Do you see "her"?
Chipping with Charm: My Salvaged Treasures Sugar Bowl Cuties...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
I'm pretty sure my inspiration for these lovely ladies came from these little sugar bowl cuties by Betsy of MY SALVAGED TREASURES.
Don't you love them?
Chipping with Charm: Repurposed Vase Ladies...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
For now they are enjoying their new home on top of the hutch in my Great Room.  They might make their way to our booth...soon :)

A Fairy Garden in a Tote...Centerpiece

Chipping with Charm: Fairy Garden Centerpiece...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
We've been enjoying all of the fun fairy gardens out there.
Chipping with Charm: Fairy Garden Centerpiece...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
So I decided it would be fun to put a quick one together for a centerpiece.  I used all things I had on hand...
Chipping with Charm: Fairy Garden Centerpiece...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
This chippy wood tote only looks old.  I bought it at Home Goods a couple of years ago.  I still love it.
Chipping with Charm: Fairy Garden Centerpiece...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
I had a couple of different kinds of moss left over from other projects.  I used both for fun texture.
Chipping with Charm: Fairy Garden Centerpiece...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
These glass insulators looked like mushrooms to me.  I put some crumpled book pages inside.
Chipping with Charm: Fairy Garden Centerpiece...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
Can you see my little junky fairy in there?
Chipping with Charm: Junky Fairy...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
Chipping with Charm: Junky Fairy...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
Just some random bits and pieces glued and tied together.
Chipping with Charm: Junky Fairy...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
Her "house" is just a Ball jar with an enamel lid on top.
Chipping with Charm: Fairy Garden Centerpiece...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
The plates were just tucked in for "flowers".
Chipping with Charm: Fairy Garden Centerpiece...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
I love how it looks out on my rustic PALLET PERCH...
Chipping with Charm: Fairy Garden Centerpiece...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
...BUT, this is definitely an indoor centerpiece.  I plan to put it on my dining room table...as soon as I finish up a couple more projects that are taking up that space :)

Knick of Time Tuesday

My kids say they are "happy/sad" about the last day of school today.  I know just what they mean.  I remember that feeling, don't you?  Excited for long sunny days without homework...but sad to say goodbye to their teachers and friends.  It's been a great year!

Happy Summer,
